Fellowship

Chatham Dockyard Historical Society is a registered charity (No 287263) and as such is not permitted to undertake social events etc. but members are invited to belong to the CDHS Fellowship.   The Fellowship is a separate association of members alongside the CDHS and has its own Committee who organise social gatherings such as quizzes, suppers, talks and historic film shows of Naval and Dockyard interest, often followed by refreshments.

The annual fee for the CDHS fellowship is £2.50 which is due in January each year. (NOTE: Fellowship membership is conditional upon concurrent CDHS membership.)

Sunday 7th April, 2.30pm -- illustrated Talk by Adam Taylor entitled “Islands of the Medway Estuary
Friday 7th June, 7.30pm -- Talk by Edward Sargent entitled "The Millwall Ironworks : An important but almost forgotten nineteenth-century shipyard on the Thames”
Friday 30th August, 7.30pm – Talk by Richard Holme entitled "The Last Days Of HMS WARSPITE in Cornwall 1947"
Sunday 20th October, 2.30pm -- Talk by Janys Thornton entitled "Sheppey Munitionesses: Women in Sheerness Dockyard in WW1
Sunday 15th December, 2.30pm – Fellowship Festive Function, details TBA.

All meetings are held in the Volunteers Lounge, 1st Floor, Fitted Rigging House on Anchor Wharf in the Historic Dockyard

2024 marks 40 years since the closure of Chatham Dockyard on 31 March 1984
